12/4/2023 Sweet Bella has gone to her new home.

Affectionate Bella came to Senior Staffy Club after her previous owner passed away. She’s now living in a foster home in Worcester and looking for a quiet retirement home where she will be treated as Princess Bella as she is known.

Bella is a 12 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is a friendly, happy-go-lucky girl who loves her cuddles. She has never shown any aggressive behaviour to humans and could live with children aged 14+ years. She has not shown any negative reactions to dogs but has not been close up and personal. She has not been cat-tested.

Bella loves her squeaky toys, snuffle-mat and her Kong. She does seem to have slight sight and hearing impairment and has had a few accidents in the house. She was toilet-trained but, because her previous owner couldn’t let her out, she got into a habit of going in the house. However, she is getting better in her foster home and lately she has been left for short periods with no accidents at all.

Bella is good meeting strangers, giving that Staffy bum wiggle starts and she expects a fuss from the people she meets. She is quite sprightly for her age and loves going for a stroll with lots of sniffs, rather than a walk. She needs short walks of around 10-15 minutes at a time rather than long rambling walks. She enjoys travelling in the back of the car. Bella has shown a little anxiety at being left on her own, but can be left for short periods. She does settle down well at bed time. She has her basket in the kitchen and her very own chair in the lounge, but she is very much a snuggle bug with her humans.

Bella has been anxious at the vet but not shown any signs of aggression at all. She had a cyst on her eye and a lump on her chest removed and all went well. She does appear to be a little wobbly on her back legs and has some sight and hearing issues, which might contribute to her barking a little more than usual, but she can easily be soothed with a snuffle mat.

Bella would benefit from a quiet household with an experienced owner and without too many steps and preferably where someone is at home for most of the day to prevent accidents. She got own well with her owner’s neighbour’s children, but does need some boundaries to stop her getting over-excited. Her foster mum says she has the potential to be an amazing family member.

Bella is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. She is currently being fostered in Worcester, but she can be rehomed anywhere in the U.K. pending a successful home visit. However, any adopter should be willing to travel to meet her at least twice where she is at the moment. There is a non-refundable adoption donation of £120 for Bella and all money donated goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in their care.
