9/9/23 – Allegra has found a home!

————-

Allegra just loves lots of fuss and cuddles after being rescued from a private shelter in Romania. She’s settling well into a foster home in Grantham, Lincolnshire, under the care of Safe Rescue and is looking forward to going to her forever home soon.

Allegra is a smallish Crossbreed aged around 7 years old. She was extremely timid and submissive on arrival and would pee with fear when approached whilst simultaneously grinning and wagging her tail, just desperate to be loved.

Her U.K. fosterer has worked very hard on her confidence during her time here and she is now ready to find her forever home. Her fosterer says:

Allegra loves kisses and cuddles and is very affectionate and loving. She can be intimidated by other dogs and would prefer to live on her own, but she could live with a dog that was calm and quiet and generally leave her alone and not overwhelm her. She is currently living with a dog-savvy child but any children would need to be old enough to understand that she needs time to approach them when she is ready. She can be scared of other dogs when out on walks (old scars suggest she was probably attacked in Romania), but she’s fine when introduced to them and given plenty of encouragement. She loves to be groomed and loves her food. Allegra is currently living happily with a cat.

Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Allegra’s details on Safe Rescue’s Facebook
