Bart is a lovely, cream/brown boy who is in a foster home in Nottingham provided by Romanian Rescue Appeal and truly deserves a forever, loving place to call home. Bart has been in the U.K. since early December and his foster family are doing a fabulous job helping him settle into a home environment.
Bart is 9 years old and is small/medium size. He’s looking for an adult only home with a friendly dog. He is full of life despite spending 6 of his approximately 9 years in a shelter. He is nervous around new people but, once he’s warmed up to you, he will never leave your side.
Bart is very curious and enjoys laying and watching his foster family do the most mundane tasks; if you ever felt lonely doing the washing up, Bart is the right dog for you! He has gone from a timid boy who wouldn’t leave his crate other than to eat, to a cheeky chap who loves a fuss and will bend into all sorts of funny positions to make sure you are stroking him in the right place.
Bart would do best in a home with a confident, sociable dog (or dogs) to help show him how wonderful being part of a family is. Bart would ideally be rehomed with someone who is patient and willing to take things at Bart’s speed. Preferably, Bart would have someone who is able to spend a lot of time with him as he very much enjoys human company and can get stressed when left alone.
Bart must be in a home with a garden as currently he won’t accept a collar; his foster family are working on this with lots of positive reinforcement. In time, it’s believed he will really enjoy going for walks as he is so curious and loves people watching through the window. He loves to zoom around the garden (once or twice straight into the pond) and is very well mannered and friendly around other dogs. He currently lives with 2 small female dogs, but he is not good with cats.
Bart is also clean in the house and will let his fosters know he wants to go out by standing by the back door. Bart is such a loving, cheeky boy with so much life left in him. He has been neutered and has no known medical issues.
