Basil is a lovely Lakeland Terrier, aged around 10, who is with Wellingborough Dog Welfare in Northamptonshire

Handsome Basil arrived as a stray and he is a smashing little dude. It is thought that he’s been used as a working dog as he has a high prey drive. He therefore needs a home with no cats or small furries. He would be happy as an only dog but could potentially live with a calm canine friend. He would not tolerate a boisterous dog though as if a dog barges into him he will tell them off. He could live with kind children aged 10+ only as Basil wants a quiet life for his older years.

Basil is such a gentleman and is very gentle and loving. He is looking for a retirement home where he can chill out, but does also need good walks as he loves to be out and about, walking and sniffing. He is a typical terrier and will go down any rabbit hole; he would also be off like a shot, so a secure garden is needed.

He will need to be allowed time to settle into home life as he has more than likely lived outside all of his life. He has no hair on his tail or ears; poor Basil.

Could you offer Basil the wonderful retirement home he so thoroughly deserves?
