13/3/2023 Captivating Claus has gone to his new home.

Please meet Captivating Claus! He joined All Animals Rescue and Rehome from the pound in December last year as an unclaimed stray. On arrival, he was very underweight, had a mouth full of rotten teeth, a matted coat and an old leg injury. All in all, he was a sorry state. He needed building up before he could have the vet work needed and, with his mouth so uncomfortable, this was a slow process and, understandably, he was a bit on the grumpy side.
It’s not known how old Claus is, but he is estimated to be 8-10 years old and he seems to be a Mini Poodle mix. He is a timid little lad and likes to come to you in his own time. He is happy to sit with you and snuggle, but on his terms, and is not a dog that likes to be carried around. He is tolerant with other dogs but isn’t keen on them being boisterous and in his face. His ideal home would be as the only dog or with a calm and sensible older dog that won’t annoy him. He isn’t looking for a playmate, just a calm, retirement home to live out his days with comfort and love.
Claus is a very cute, appealing little boy, but he isn’t a dog that will tolerate lots of contact. His adopters will need to be prepared to give him space and allow him to come to you when he is ready. Claus is very undemanding and lazy and would suit an older person or couple. Claus walks beautifully on the lead and is house-trained. Most of the day, he spends snoozing on the sofa and he loves his food and gentle walks. Claus is a gentle little soul, he is a darling with not a bad bone in his body. He is not destructive at all and is quite content being left for short periods.
This lovely lad would make a fantastic addition to any family as he is really laid-back and undemanding, but equally a lovely, cuddly, loyal companion once he knows you. Claus would like an adult-only home, is fine with cats and isn’t interested in them at all. He is castrated, fully vaccinated and chipped. He is also flea/worm treated and has recently had a dental.
