30/9/23 – Lovely Lucy has found a home already – she was spotted on the Oldies Club website and her new owner went to meet her right away. Brilliant news!

Lovely Lucy is approximately 10 years old. She is a medium-sized Crossbreed weighing 23kg. Lucy is with Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, near Tring, Hertfordshire.
Lucy has led quite an eventful life. She was born in Russia before being rescued and taken to Belgium where she was adopted by an English lady living abroad. Lucy spent five happy years in Belgium before transferring to the UK. They shared a further five years together until her owner sadly developed dementia and was moved to a care home.
From family members it’s known that Lucy is a placid, friendly dog who makes friends with new people quite readily. Certainly she has become one of the most popular dogs with the volunteers at CDRS who enjoy taking her for steady on-lead walks of up to an hour. Although not particularly fit when she arrived, Lucy now really looks forward to these outings, either on her own or with other dogs.
Lucy has always lived in a quiet, adult home as the only pet. She would be best suited to something similar again. Lucy has been happy to snooze for a few hours if she had to be left for shopping trips or hospital appointments but, ideally, would like someone around for much of the day. A secure garden to explore and chill out would be a must. She is used to car journeys and is relaxed when taken out and about.
Lucy has given a lot of love and comfort over the years. She is quietly affectionate but not cuddly, and could make the perfect companion for someone looking for a dog to share gentle country strolls.
Lucy has had several recent vet checks. No health issues were detected other than needing some significant dental work to remove infected teeth. This is all behind her now and she is ready to move on and enjoy a happy retirement.
