Please help Mike by sharing this page!

Dear old Mike is a Staffy cross of 13 years, in the care of Dogs Trust Newbury, in Berkshire. He wants a quiet retirement home as an only pet with no resident children. Visiting grandchildren would be fine, just be careful he doesn’t accidentally knock over little ones when he’s excited.

Mike loves human company and needs at least one of his people to be at home most of the time. He likes a fuss, especially a chest scratchies, from those he trusts. He’s not too demanding though and is quite happy just to be in his own space, knowing that his human is around somewhere.

Mike is a real foody and will be ever such a good boy for treats! He loves ball games too.

On walks, Mike likes plenty of sniffing stops to catch up on the latest news in dog world. He ignores other dogs if they’re passing by peacefully. He doesn’t like off-lead dogs approaching him if he doesn’t know them. He does have a few dog friends at the rescue but he definitely won’t want to share his home or his human’s affections with another dog. Cats are a no thank you as being chased often offends.

Mike is on medication to control some arthritis and an allergy which affects his skin. He’s an adorable old sweetie with a lot of love to give. He will need kind adopters who will help him adjust to his new surroundings at his own pace and you will need to be able to visit him a few times before he commits himself… because he’s worth it!

If you might be able to offer Mike the peaceful retirement home he seeks, please contact Dogs Trust Newbury as follows:
