Cute Murphy is a 7 year old Shih Tzu Cross looking for a new home following a change in his owner’s circumstances. He is being cared for by All Dogs Matter in North London until his forever home comes along. He recently found a new home but, sadly, his owner has allergies.
Murphy is clever boy who thrives off attention. However he can be anxious when left on his own, so he needs an owner who is around for most of the day in a home with direct access to a garden. He is fine with other dogs when out and about, so he could possibly live with a new dog in his new home (pending introductions). He doesn’t extend his friendship to cats though!
Murphy is a funny, quirky little guy who enjoys playing games of chase and tug. Although he isn’t the most affectionate dog, he rolls around for tickles and is happy to be petted and brushed by people he trusts. When he meets people outside the home, he is generally friendly and curious to meet them. However, in the home, he can be fearful of new people and become anxious, displaying territorial behaviour. Therefore, he needs an experienced, patient owner who has had dogs before and can manage these situations.
Murphy has ‘Queen Anne’s Legs’, a frontal limb deformity that gives him a slightly funny gait – you can see a video here. This doesn’t affect him adversely currently and he still enjoys his walks and has no problem with stairs. He lost one of his eyes due to a cornea but this is fully healed now.
