Woody (SOKS Dog Rescue, kennelled Cornwall)

Woody (short for Woodstock) is a beautiful 8-9 year old Husky mix, currently in kennels in Bude, Cornwall, through no fault of his own. He has rescue backup from SOKS Dog Rescue. As well as offers of a permanent home, SOKS would also consider a foster home or a foster-to-adopt placement in the Cornwall/Devon area.

Woody is super friendly and very affectionate with people. He loves to run and play, but needs someone with the experience to manage his enthusiasm.

He can pull on the lead and is still strong despite his age, so potential adopters would need to commit to improving his lead-walking skills. Woody needs plenty of exercise and would make a wonderful running buddy!

Woody needs a home with a large, secure garden with plenty of room for him to play and enjoy the sunshine. He is good with smaller dogs and female dogs, and could live with older children, but no cats please.

According to the kennel owner, Woody is “the most chilled out dog in the kennels” that they currently have. He’s been super friendly and affectionate with everyone there.

Woody was brought to the UK originally by a different rescue and placed in a adoptive home where he did fantastically, but sadly he had to move due to the adopter having unexpected health issues. He was placed in a foster home where he got on very well with two of the three resident dogs but felt threatened by the third, a 68kg Spanish mastiff – so Woody can be nervous about dogs larger than him. He was placed in a second adoptive home and was again returned through no fault of his own when that adopter’s circumstances changed. He has subsequently been brought under the care of SOKS Dogs Rescue to benefit from their full rescue backup and adopter support.

SOKS want to make Woody’s run of bad luck – which has not been his fault – a thing of the past, and they will be taking great care in placing him in his forever home. He’s a lovely boy with an incredibly sweet personality, and they’d love to see him out of kennels and in a home where he belongs.

A home check will apply. Could you offer Woody a lovely home?
