Bertie is an adorable Pug/Beagle cross currently being fostered in Kings Lynn, Norfolk through Safe Rescue. Arriving into their care through no fault of his own, he has already lived in a home and is the perfect house guest, just looking for his next chapter to begin.

Bertie is 10yrs old and at present quite a chunky boy, needing to lose a few pounds. He loves his walks, so this should be easy if you are willing to be his hiking buddy which he would really enjoy. Bertie loves his walkies!

He can be strong on the lead, so will need someone equally strong on the other end. He is great with other dogs both in and out of the home and also cats with whom he has lived. He could live as a single dog or share his home with other doggy chums.Bertie has also lived with children with whom he is perfectly fine so could happily live alongside sensible dog savvy youngsters.

He loves nothing more than lots of attention and cuddles, and will happily snuggle up on the sofa right next to you.

Bertie would prefer someone that is around with him for much of the time and is not wanting a home where he is left and his humans go out to work for a lot of the day. He is such a friendly and adorable little chap that will make the most perfect companion for some lucky person.

Please note: When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period.
