21/10/12 Poor little William has had to be put to sleep as he had kidney failure. Sleep tight old boy.

William is a sweet Jack Russell Terrier boy who is thought to be at least 12 years old. His owner went into a home, and so William finds himself at the Ark, on the Lincolnshire coast, waiting for someone to offer him a new home. Poor old lad.

William is a friendly boy but he prefers to be allowed to do his own things these days and he’s not keen on being messed about with, for example at the vets, where he can be a bit grumpy. He often seems to be in his own little world.

He has lived with children before but would probably be happiest in a quiet home. He mixes well the dogs and although he’s curious about cats he’s not bothered by them.

He is neutered and vaccinated. William has recently had a blood test as he seemed to be drinking more. It was found that he currently doesn’t treatment other than a suitable diet for his kidneys.

William has never shown any aggression. He travels well and walks well on the lead, with good recall if he’s near enough to hear you – he seems a little hard of hearing. He’s a busy little lad and likes be left to get on with investigating his environment, but he happily shares his kennel with another dog. Toys don’t interest him nowadays.

He was briefly rehomed by the Ark but was returned because he was said to be soiling in the house, even when he’d just been out. He has been housetrained previously so it may have been something to do with his kidney problem, or possibly just stress of being in a new environment with a new routine.

William needs a fairly quiet home where he can do his own thing and where any soiling can be contained to a limited space.
