Ruben (formerly Alfie) is waiting at Dunroamin K9 Rescue‘s kennels in South Yorkshire for someone to offer him a new home. He found himself there through no fault of his own. His love of human company and romping about outside make kennel life pretty stressful for him.

Ruben is a placid, gentle boy. He’s lived with young children before AND cats. That’s how docile he is in the house! But it’s now thought he should have an adult only home. Out on walks, he makes the most of the freedom to charge about.

He needs an active owner who is calm and confident, like him. He really loves being with people. Fuss and cuddles are always welcome!

When he first arrived in kennels he pretty much ignored other dogs but the stress and lack of his own pack, have made him picky about which dogs he’ll accept around him. Once he has the security of a home and family again, it’s pretty likely he’ll relax. He’s more interested in enjoying life with all its sunshine, interesting smells and good company!

Ruben’s big open heart and sense of fun make him a real joy to have around. He will love playing with his ball in the garden as much as he’ll love just chillin’ with his peeps.

He’s neutered, vaccinated, healthy and soppy. Dunroamin sometimes foster out their dogs, so if fostering with a view to adoption sounds good to you, it’s worth asking.
