09/03/2018 – Tinker has found a new home!
——————–

Tinker is a handsome, red-coated Staffy boy aged 12 who is hoping to find a new, loving home with the help of the Senior Staffy Club and is currently in foster care in the Leeds area.

Tinker used to live with a female and was somewhat dominated by her. Although they quarrelled over food, he could possibly live with a calm female after careful introductions. Tinker clearly has no love for cats and couldn’t live with one. He has not been brought up around children either, but has a gentle nature and would be fine with older children aged 12+.

Tinker was quite anxious when he first arrived in kennels and was a bit nervous of the outside world, but he is gaining in confidence and loves his walks. Tinker still regularly looks to you for reassurance while out walking.

Tinker is not motivated by food at all, so you can’t bribe him with treats. He likes a fuss and is very responsive. He appears to have quite a strong prey drive, as he is fascinated by horses and other animals while out and about. He did not react at all to dogs in other kennels, but tends to freeze when he sees one while out walking – although will then walk past nicely – which suggests he is, if anything, a little nervous of other dogs. Otherwise he walks really nicely on the lead and wants to please.

Tinker’s new foster mum says he is a really good boy in the home and is enjoying his home comforts. He suffers a little with separation anxiety which his foster mum is working on, but would ideally suit someone who was at home a lot and did not have to leave him for long periods.
