20/5/18 – Alfie has been adopted by his foster family!

—————-

Alfie is a small poodle cross of around ten years old and he’s currently in the care of a Safe Rescue foster home in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

With his adorable face and fluffy coat, Alfie is sure to get lots of home offers, but Safe Rescue says he is not for the faint-hearted so please read all of his write-up before applying to adopt him!

Alfie has been in a family home for most of his ten years, but recently his owners decided they could no longer tolerate his behaviour. Alfie sadly has baggage and he’s a complicated little soul due to being disciplined in a confusing manner. As a result he can be stubborn and likes to have his own way.

Alfie needs to be muzzled whenever he is bathed or groomed, although he’s very good at allowing the muzzle to go on and then accepting that there’s little point in a protest. He isn’t a bad dog at all, just confused by the mixed messages he’s had. With an experienced person to give him clear commands and consistent training he will be very manageable and make a perfect little companion.

Despite his stubborness, Alfie is a very affectionate and friendly little lap dog who loves his cuddles and walks. He is excellent on and off lead and loves to play with a ball or toy.

Alfie has previously lived with cats and he gets along very well with all the other dogs in his foster home. He can protest and shout at the bigger ones though if he thinks he’s going to get trodden on.

If you have “crabby little dogs” experience maybe you could help Alfie and offer him the long and happy retirement he deserves.
