1/5/18 – Gorgeous Alvin has found his new home!

Adorable Alvin is a fabulous, approximately 8 year old Carpathian Shepherd dog who sadly spent the last 5 years of his life in a shelter in Romania. He arrived as a young dog and was never given a chance until now that he is in the care of Love Underdogs in Waltham Abbey, Essex waiting for his special someone to take him home.
Alvin is a super steady boy, very reliable and hasn’t got a bad bone in his body. He has been sharing a kennel for all these years with his friend Simona and they get on fine mainly because Alvin agrees that she is the boss and she’s in charge. He’s quite happy to do what he’s told, bless him. He will work for treats and enjoys tucking into his meals.
When Alvin first arrived, he was quite puzzled by the concept of going out for a walk, but once he realised what this was all about, he really took to it. He absolutely loves going out and the sight of his harnesses brings a huge smile to his face. Alvin is a large dog so, due to his sheer size, needs someone who can handle a large dog, but he is actually very polite on the lead and does listen to his people.
Alvin is a very sweet, affectionate dog who really loves people and he will bring much happiness to any home. Having spent most of his life in a shelter, Alvin needs a home with experience, as he may develop further once rehomed. He also needs a physically fit family; he is a big boy and he loves his exercise. No small furries and children aged 16+ please as senior dogs are not homed with younger children to allow them a more peaceful time, but plenty of cuddles please.
Alvin has never lived in a home so will need someone committed to house training, etc. He will no doubt pick up on what is expected of him as generally, he aims to please his people. Alvin had a full medical check-up, dental and blood profile on arrival and he is in good health. He has been vaccinated, microchipped and has a passport.
