17/05/18 – Cash has been adopted!
Gorgeous Cash is a stunning example of a Romanian shepherd cross. He is 7 years old according to his passport, but he acts much younger. This beautiful dog had a very sad beginning. For five years he was in a public shelter in Romania where he became depressed and unapproachable. He had just given up. Only now is he finally experiencing the life he deserves to have as a much-loved and cared for companion, thanks to Safe Rescue.
Cash is his foster mum’s dream dog and it saddens her to think of how this wonderful boy’s early life was wasted, shut in that awful place with no one to love him. When he came to his foster home, his foster mum thought it would be a long project to gain his trust and to feel safe. Surprisingly, however, Cash has improved greatly in less than a month! He is still a little uneasy about being stroked, but this seems to be more of a lack of understanding than fear. In time and with a lot of one-to-one interaction and attention he should start to enjoy the feel of human contact.
Cash gets on with the other dogs in his foster home and he needs a home with at least one other dog who can show him what his life should be like. He needs an adult home with an owner who will understand that it might be a few weeks for him to trust you. Once he does, he will repay your efforts with as much love and affection that he can give!
