30/4/18 – George and Gypsy have found a long term foster home. Marvellous news!

It’s very sad that George and Gypsy find themselves urgently looking for a new home together. This beautiful pair of black and tan German Shepherds are in their twilight years and are heartbreakingly being rehomed as their owner has been taken into care and can no longer look after for them. The care home allows dogs and, on this occasion, has done the same, but it is not working out as the owner is getting very stressed whenever the dogs leave the room. The dogs are very sociable and all the residents have fallen in love with them, but they have to put the owner’s needs first and she is not coping. She obviously loves the dogs but will not let them out of her sight.

George

They are currently in Hastings while the German Shepherd Dog Rescue are helping them to find their new home urgently.

George is 11 years old and is short-haired, while Gypsy is long-haired and 13 years old. They have spent their whole lives with each other and must be rehomed together. They are an adorable pair, very calm, well-behaved and laid-back. They both have the sweetest natures. George and Gypsy can live with children and other dogs; it’s not known how they react to cats.

Gypsy

George could do with losing a bit of weight and having some exercise. Gypsy is quite wobbly on her legs. She likes to spend her days sleeping but will happily go out in the garden when encouraged. They are neutered.
