23/6/2018 – Skye has already found a wonderful new home! She is settling in nicely and her new owner has sent us this report:

‘I thought I would just drop you a line to let you know that Skye is settling in very well.   She is having great fun exploring, and has made herself much at home. While she may be elderly, she is every inch a terrier!  She has found her forte – herding geese… and is unlikely to remain white for long, having already soiled her bandana rolling in goose poo!  I have had to buy her a more practical collar.  After all her adventures, she sleeps very soundly, and of course, eats well!’

Skye earns her keep by herding geese at her new home!

Skye has got the cute going on! This adorable little lady has been a much loved and well cared for companion to her owner, who sadly has become unwell and has moved into sheltered accommodation. 15-year-old Skye, after a lifetime of devotion to her beloved owner, was scheduled to be put to sleep. Thankfully that didn’t happen. With just hours to spare, Chilterns Dog Rescue Society stepped in to save her. Now this very senior little lady is looking for a new home where she can live out the rest of her life with someone new to love and care for her as her previous owner did.

Far from being a grumpy little old lady, Skye has the sweetest of natures. Because she was treated well her whole life, she loves people and has a very trusting heart. She is asking for so little – just a quiet home with someone who will love and care for her. It is important that she finds this special person very soon. Kennels are no place for this sweet little lady at this time of her life.

Skye is in very good health for her age. Her heart and ears are doing well, but she has cataracts in both eyes and some slight corneal damage to her left eye which appears to be an old injury trying to heal. She is due for a dental and it’s likely she will need some teeth removed. She is a little stiff, but she still enjoys going for short walks and would love a nice secure garden to potter and sunbathe in.

Skye is good with other dogs, children and cats, but at her age, a quiet home without too much noise or much going on would suit her best. She just wants a place on the sofa by your side, knowing she is safe and loved. And you, her lucky new owner, will be much loved in return.
