3/12/18 – Adorable little Ted has found a new home after being spotted on the Oldies Club website!

——————

Ted was handed in to Wonky Pets Rescue by his owner due to a change in circumstances. Ted is a very special boy who is looking for a very special home and is being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

Gorgeous Ted is an 11 year old, dinky Jack Russell boy and he is absolutely adorable. He has the sweetest nature and is a happy, comical, little lad who adores a fuss and loves to follow you around. He rarely barks and he absolutely loves his food though he will steal food if left lying around. Ted adores his walks and is good off the lead once he knows you. He is a pleasure to take out, so he will need a home where he can get some lovely countryside walks and be taken out every day. He travels well in the car and walks nicely on the lead.

Ted loves company and he insists on sleeping on the bed with you at night, but he really is no trouble and, once he crashes out, you won’t know he is there; he is great company. He is good with other dogs of all sizes and can happily share his home with another gentle, older, neutered dog (young bouncy dogs aren’t his cup of tea). He is okay with dog-savvy cats and ignores livestock and poultry.

Ted has grown up around children in his previous home and he loves kids but, now he is older, he deserves a slightly quieter home with resident children aged 8 years and over (although he will be fine with younger visiting children).

Sadly, Ted’s veterinary needs hadn’t been properly addressed for some time and he needed a dental due to an awfully infected mouth. He also had a large lump under his belly which was also removed and fortunately was benign so won’t cause any further issues going forward. Ted’s ears were also badly infected and he is on daily ear drops still at the moment which will need to continue for a while longer in his new home, but his ears are a lot better and don’t seem to bother him in the slightest.

Ted has another ongoing health issue and arrived with a horrible cough; x-rays revealed that he possibly had an untreated infection in his lungs. He has been on several treatments, including steroids and codine to help reduce inflammation in the lungs and stop the coughing and he has now been introduced to an inhaler (this will of course come with him to his new home). Ted has been responding well to the combined inhaler and codine treatments and, although this will possibly be a lifelong treatment, it’s not too expensive and he is hardly coughing at all now and really enjoying life to the full.

Ted is neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated. He will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
