19/1/2020 Lovely Mabel is so happy now that she’s been adopted.

Lovely Mabel is an 8 year old German Shepherd in foster care near Norwich, Norfolk through Safe Rescue. She’s good with other dogs but still a bit wary of new people.
Mabel was found in a private shelter in Romania and prior to that she had living as a stray in an industrial area, never letting any human get close to her. Safe Rescue volunteers visited Mabel in the shelter in July. She was cowered in the corner of the pen and despite having been there so long had made no progress at all in trusting people.
Since being in the UK Mabel has learned to trust a little more. She is still nervous of strangers but is enjoying walks and plays enthusiastically with other dogs in her foster home.
Love and understanding will conquer her fears in time but she does need to find a special someone who is willing to earn her trust. Mabel unfortunately has heart worm but will come with tablets to be taken monthly for the next 18 months. Winning the trust of this beautiful girl is well worth this bit of TLC because when she’s happy, her smile lights up a room!
