15/10/19 – We are delighted to hear that Raven has found a home with a lady who loved her the first time round but was too emotional to take on a new dog having just lost one very similar to Raven. She couldn’t believe she could have a second chance to get to know her all over again. It was obviously meant to be!

Raven is a small black Staffy girl, aged about 8 years, who is at Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire. Raven has just spent four happy months in a home, but she has been returned through no fault of her own; her new owner just felt he had not bonded with her.

Poor Raven sadly originally arrived at CDRS in a very sorry state. She had been living in the same home since a puppy and, while she was much loved, her owners were completely unable to meet her medical needs, and what had started as a simple skin infection had, over the years, developed into chronic dermatitis. Poor Raven had lost nearly all the hair on her body, and her skin was sore and thickened as a result of secondary bacterial and fungal skin infections.

But a month later, Raven was transformed, bless her! Glossy black hair had started grown back, and her skin was so much softer and healthier. Four more months on now, her hair has grown back and her skin is greatly improved. She still sometimes nibbles her toes if they get itchy, but overall she can be maintained in a good state of health with a hypoallergenic diet – CDRS recommend that her new owners continue with the fish and rice diet she is enjoying there – and regular medicated baths. Raven is spayed.

Affectionate, gentle and loveable, Raven’s nature has not been impacted by her past neglect. She loves people and, while you shouldn’t have a favourites, she is ‘number 1’ with both staff and dog walkers at CDRS.

After her past experiences, Raven would love a quiet home. She is good with other dogs and has lived with small children, but now she deserves a home where she will not have to worry about fitting into a busy family routine. She doesn’t want to live with cats.

Staff at CDRS appreciate that there are many staffies looking for homes, but lovely Raven really is a star and will make a fantastic addition to a household that can meet her ongoing needs. Hopefully it will be second time lucky for finding a wonderful new home for this little girl who just wants a quiet life, short walks and someone who understands her needs.

Could you offer this very special little girl a very happy future?
