27/11/19 – Gorgeous Sampo has found a home!

Poor Sampo has spent his life having to survive in Romania with a disability. Nevertheless, he is an adorable character with a huge personality and he is very keen to have cuddles. He is now happily in Waltham Abbey, Essex, with Love Underdogs and is hoping that his special someone will take him to his forever home. He will be the kind of dog for a caring person who has a real rescue mentality, wanting to make a difference where many others would not. He also needs to live in a house where he will not be expected to climb stairs as this would be difficult for him.
Sampo is a large, cuddly Crossbreed aged 8 years. He has a deformity to his back legs which comes from the knee caps having moved from the front of the knee joint to the back, so he crouches like a little frog and does have to hop around, rather than walk. He was seen by an orthopaedic surgeon and had a 3D scan made of his skeleton to understand his conformation. It was decided that surgery would be far too invasive and risky. Moreover, he is a very affectionate dog who does love life and with the support of his buggy and access to a lovely garden, fields, parks or beach, he will be a very contented dog.
Sampo just loves spending time with people. He travels in his buggy on hard surfaces but can have a good hop around on grass. He actually loves his buggy and being able to see the world.
This beautiful boy has a very positive outlook on life and can charm virtually anyone, dog lover or not. He has real charisma and is a real inspiration to all of us. This is a boy who has not had an easy life but he makes the best of it.
Sampo enjoys the outdoors, would love a nice garden to potter in and to be taken places in his buggy. Sampo weighs about 25kg, so he will need someone who can lift him up into a car or help him get into his buggy. He loves other dogs but can, at times, be a bit over the top so he would really suit being an only pet as he loves the attention. He needs a home without cats.
Sampo is simply a super dog and will be a one-in-a-lifetime friend who will be sure to enhance anyone’s social life at the park. A real head-turner with a golden personality, this boy is just so good. Sampo is looking for a loving compassionate, fun and fit family. Any children should be 16+ please. He is neutered, microchipped and has a passport.
