16/1/20 – Little Toby has found a new home! After a sad life so far, it is lovely to know he has a happy future.

Poor Toby has had a miserable life spent locked in a bathroom and then shouted at when allowed out. So, he is looking for a quiet, patient and understanding home without children as he is very wary about new people. South East Dog Rescue would love to find Toby the forever home he truly deserves now.
Toby is a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier who is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He travels well in the car and, although he has a few accidents overnight, his foster carers say he’s making good progress.
Toby’s foster family say this about him:
“Toby is so much happier out of kennels. The first few days with us, he was still very unsure and insecure, but by day 3 he would come over to you for his food, allow you to touch him, and nudge your hand if you stopped stroking him. A few more days on and he is out with our dogs, plays with a tennis ball, explores the garden on his own, and says hello to new people who come to visit.
A lead walk can take some time as every few steps he stops and has a look around, but he is not bothered by traffic or travelling in the car. His weight is down a bit, still some more to come off, but he can now jump up onto the sofa to sit next to you.
Toby has lived with a cat and is looking for a home as an only dog, or with other dogs who are not too energetic, no children, and, most importantly, people who can work with him to try to make up for the unhappy years to give him all the love and affection he has been denied.”
Toby has been completely let down by the people who should have loved and cared for him and now is looking for a forever home where he can be shown the love and the care his foster family has. He would not suit a busy household and could revert back to being extremely scared again initially once he moves to his forever home. His new family need to be prepared for that, but he does have so much love to give once you gain his trust.
