13/4/20 – Copper is in foster with a view to adoption!

This little cutie is Copper and she’s a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Unfortunately, she finds herself needing a new home due to her owner’s health reasons. She is staying at her current home in Sittingbourne, Kent, until a new one is found as she would not cope in kennels and South East Dog Rescue are helping her find a new, loving owner.

Once Copper trusts you, she is a loving and loyal friend who loves cuddles. She is nervous of new people initially and will take several meet and greets to gain her trust. She will need a patient home to win her trust but, once you have, you will have a best friend for life. Copper is house-trained, travels well and is not destructive in the home. She is not used to being left and so will need someone at home for most of the time.

Copper currently lives with 2 dogs, but she can be the instigator of squabbles with the other dogs and so is looking for a home as an only dog. She is happy to walk past other dogs out on walks but, if they approach her too suddenly, she may give a little grumble, though sometimes she wants to go and say hello … a typical choosy Jack Russell. She does live with cats, but she chases other cats in the garden or out on walks. Copper is extremely fearful of children and, therefore, needs a home without children or visiting children.

This is what her owner has to say:
Copper is a cuddle monster; she enjoys a walk but much prefers to be curled up on your lap or sunbathing in the garden. She goes totally crackers for water and loves to swim, paddle and chase water. She has her own pool to play in and will spend all day during the summer, and winter if allowed, paddling in it. Copper has a quirky personality and can be very chatty and sweet once she feels safe and settled. She loves a stuffed teddy she can throw around and destroy, but knows not to touch anything not given to her. She will nibble her bed and has always done this.

Cooper has been spayed and microchipped and will be up-to-date with vaccinations before leaving for her new home.
