26/03/20 – Wonderful news for beautiful Jessie – she now has a new home lined up to go to!
Jessie is a 13-year-old Collie girl who is with Starfish Dog Rescue, being fostered in Gloucestershire.
This lovely girl was bought via the internet 5 months ago, along with Charlie the collie, but from separate homes. Poor Jessie had been sold via the free-ads twice in 12 months, bless her. The family who bought her recently no longer had the time for her and Charlie.
The first thing that strikes you about Jess and Charlie is how lovely and friendly they are, being good with dogs and people. Jess is also good with cats.
Jessie is a lovely soul who is beautiful inside and out. She is an old lady but she still loves chasing a ball. She sometimes struggles with her back legs – her weight does not help and she is on a diet – but once up she is still very sprightly for her age.
After a few days in foster she seems very happy and settled. She is a special dog who is so trusting. She needs a quiet retirement home with quiet people. She could live with other calm and respectful dogs. Jess loves her ball and is good off the lead, clean in the house and travels well.
She has attended the vets as she had a lump on her teat. The vet advised having the lump removed as it looked like it could be infected, and although probably benign, if left it could develop into cancer. Jessie has now had the surgery and is recovering well. This will hopefully prevent future problems, but this cannot be guaranteed. Starfish will be happy to discuss this with you.
Jessie has started on Metacam to help her recover and it is something she might benefit from long-term for the arthritis in her back legs.
Lovely Jessie is a darling and Starfish are hoping someone will offer her a lovely home with a soft bed and lots of love for however long she has left.
