5/8/20 Gorgeous Koshi is so happy to report that she has found her loving, forever home.

Koshi is a gorgeous lady of 10 years, in the care of Love Underdogs in Waltham Abbey, Essex. She’s been with them for far too long and seen her kennel mates find loving homes but so far her forever humans haven’t found her. Hopefully that’s soon to change. Prospective adopters will need to make a few visits to get her but she’s well worth the effort. Just look at that beautiful smile!
Koshi is good with other dogs and would enjoy sharing her home with another confident dog who can show her the ropes. She has been in respite foster care a few times and was clean and well behaved each time. She does have some insecurities due to her past but once trust is established…
…she’s a big old soppy-head!
Koshi wants an adult only home in a quiet, preferably fairly rural area. Her past existence as a Romanian stray, locked up in a horrible shelter for years means she’s under-socialised with people. She was in a kennel with 3 other dogs so she trusts other dogs just fine.
Meeting new humans is a worry to her and it takes time for her to accept new people in her circle of trust. She can nip or bite people’s legs if a stranger comes over into her personal space without proper introduction. She therefore needs to be rehomed in an environment where there are few strangers to deal with and with owners who will keep in mind her proclivities, defusing any potentially stressful situations for her.
As with all Love Underdogs’ charges, post adoption support is available, including access to a dog behaviourist if needed and adoption is on a trial basis to start with. Building up a bond during visits to the rescue beforehand will reassure all parties that you’re right for each other. Once she is your friend she is adorable, really loving and affectionate!
Koshi is a huge favourite among the team at the kennels and has her bedroom made up just like she likes it by our kennel manager, with all her toys nicely lined up on her bed!
She’s on Metacam for her arthritic joints. She walks as well as she can, but her mobility will not enable her to climb mountains. She will do her best to go on walks though and will play with other dogs like a little puppy! If no one wants to play not to worry she will entertain herself with toys in between naps!
Her family will need to keep an eye on her weight. She absolutely needs to stay slim for her arthritis, and she is very, very good at begging!
