Please help Niko by sharing this page!
Niko is an 8-year-old Akita boy who came into the care of Friends of Akitas through no fault of his own and has remained cheerful despite having spent over a year in kennels now! He’s at boarding kennels in Nottinghamshire, charming everyone he meets with his friendly, happy nature.
Niko is a loving and cuddly boy. He wants to be the only pet at home but is fine meeting other dogs out and about. He could live with dog-savvy teenagers but has never lived with little ‘uns so best to keep it that way. He’s good with children he meets but does need a bit of peace at home.
Niko loves his walks so much he can’t contain his excitement and will vocalise until you get going. He’s a pleasure to walk. He’s good on the lead and walks nicely with other dogs.
He loves to explore and does have giddy moments but is well behaved and easy enough to handle for an experienced dog owner. One thing that always makes him giddy is snow!
Niko is clean and well behaved in the house. He’s also very good in the car, after 10 minutes of looking at the world go by he settles down to sleep. What a good boy!
Along with his affectionate and cheerful dispositions comes his playful side. He doesn’t play with toys but loves a game of chase or any kind of silliness with his people, preferably in the outdoors which is his favourite place to be.
Niko is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He’s an all round star of a dog who will be an easy and fun addition to the right home.
