2/1/23 – Pretty Poppy has found a home!
Beautiful Poppy is a medium-sized German Shepherd Cross of around nine to ten years old. She came to Safe Rescue recently from another rescue who are unfortunately being forced to relocate their dogs. Poppy is currently living in a foster home in Basildon, Essex.
Poppy is a quiet and sweet natured girl who is looking for a peaceful home environment for her retirement years. She gets on well with other dogs and would ideally like another dog in her forever home but would be okay as an only dog also.
Poppy is initially a little hand shy with strangers, but she is an affectionate girl once she has got to know you well. Poppy has only learned to walk on a lead since coming to Safe Rescue so walks are new to her, but she is taking them all in her stride and enjoying the new world of experiences around her.
Poppy would not be able to live with children under 12 years due to her initial shyness but visiting children wouldn’t be an issue. She has been cat tested and can live with a resident cat.
Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
