Stunning boy Kato is a 7-year-old Akita in the care of Cheltenham Animal Shelter in Gloucestershire. He’s available either to adopt or long-term foster. His kennel is a lonely place since his best friend Poppy passed away so he will be thrilled to have a proper home again and his very own people to dote on.

Kato wants to be the only pet in an adult-only home. He likes having company so he wants a home where someone is around most of the time. He loves getting fuss from his favourite people, especially head, neck and shoulder scratchies!

Kato enjoys exploring outdoors. He’ll need a good-sized, secure garden to snuffle about in or sunbath. He’s not one for dashing about with his toys and has the typical Akita dignity about him, most of the time.

He’s quite possessive over his toys, his bed and his food. Resource guarding is something his new owners need to be at ease with and the rescue will help in understanding it if needed.

Kato also has the Akita ability to make you laugh with light-hearted silliness when the mood takes him.
