21/2/2023 Stunning Olly has found his forever home.

Olly is a stunning, white German Shepherd who is looking for a relaxed retirement home with new owners who have experience with the German Shepherd breed and the behaviours that often come with them, such as reactivity to strangers. Meantime, he is being cared for by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in Brands Hatch, Kent, and would prefer a permanent home rather than a foster one. Olly is a very special dog and he will surely flourish with the right family.
Olly is 9 years old and neutered. He would love a choice of comfy beds so he can snooze away his afternoons in comfort. Once he has got to know you, he is very affectionate and really enjoys a brush. In his previous home, he lived with another German Shepherd for the entirety of his life from whom he sought a lot of reassurance and guidance. His companion sadly passed in early November, so Olly is now adapting to life on his own for the first time.
Olly is an anxious dog. He is fearful of new people in particular, and will need owners who understand how to manage his behaviour, and also be sympathetic in their approach to helping him with his general anxiety. Olly would like an adult-only home and as the only dog, though he could potentially live with cats. He needs a private garden and to live away from the inner city.
Olly has had x-rays of his joints and, whilst not perfect, for his breed and age the clinic team were very happy with them. He was trialled on pain medication but is no longer on them. Potential new owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet.
