Loving Tiny is a 12 year old, female, Terrier Cross. She is currently being cared for by the Mayhew Animal Home in North West London and looking for her forever home, but she would benefit from a foster home in the meantime as she gets stressed when left alone. Tiny is a great girl who can’t wait to join her new owner or family.

Tiny is very affectionate and thrives in human company. She could potentially live with a cat and is sociable with other dogs but can be a bit grumpy at times, so she would like a home where she is the only dog. She could live with sensible children aged 10+ providing they have lived with a dog before and will give her space when she needs it.

Tiny is looking for a home where there will be someone around most of the time, building up to 1 – 2 hours on occasion. She travels well in the car but can be vocal at times. She still loves a good game of fetch and is a chatty girl, so she will let her owner know when she wants them to throw it again. She is still full of energy, enjoying her walks and will need at least two 30 minute off-lead walks a day.

Tiny arrived at Mayhew with worn teeth, mammary lumps and a history of hind limb lameness. Radiographs were taken of her spine and hips and Tiny was found to have hip dysplasia of both hips, however it is severe in the left hip. All dogs with hip dysplasia develop secondary osteoarthritis of the affected joint. She is also showing arthritis within her spine.

Tiny is now on a monthly antibody injection to alleviate the pain associated with osteoarthritis. Adopters should be aware that the arthritis will progress with time. Tiny has also had some mammary lumps removed that were found to be a mixture of benign and low grade malignant. Adopters will need to monitor this area for the development of any new growths and go for regular vet check ups. She is neutered.
