The K9 Rescue Knitting Club makes dog coats for sale, with all the proceeds going to Dog rescues. This year they have chosen to help the Oldies Club.

A dog should be for life…
Hundreds of dogs will die this Christmas, simply because there are too many of them and not enough homes.

Hazel (Chilterns Dog Rescue Society, Bucks)
8/2/2007 Badly neglected Hazel developed acute liver failure and had to be put to sleep. CDRS told us that she was a truly lovely dog and we are very sorry that she ran out of time before she had time to enjoy a happy home life.

Sadly, although a rescue place was offered to Norman, his owners refused to release him and he was put to sleep.

Max was pining away… But now he’s settled in his new home!
Max was distraught and crying in his kennel at The Ark in Lincolnshire. Things looked bleak: Max was pining away. But Max’s story captured the hearts of so many Oldies Club readers that The Ark was inundated with people wanting to help him…

Max came into rescue with his best friend, Tricks. It is hard to find homes for pairs of dogs, and sadly, Max never reached his forever home.

Brindle has found his new home for Christmas! Woohoo!!!!!
Brindle had been in Oldies Club care for months and, up until this weekend, hadn’t had a single enquiry. But he’s now in a wonderful new home!

Jet (p.a.r.r.t., North East area)
10/3/2007 Unfortunately, Jet has had to be put to sleep. His health deteriorated rapidly and he was very distressed; the vet suspected Jet had brain tumours.
