24/8/12 Ollie’s health was so poor that he has sadly had to be put to sleep. Rest in peace, Ollie.

Like his friend Goldie, Ollie is a dog of the desert. He was born in Dubai and rescued as a young lad by an organisation run by expats. He was adopted along with Goldie by a British couple living and working in the Middle East.

Ollie is around 8 years old and looks to a cross between a Whippet and German Shepherd with perhaps a few others thrown in the mix! He is now back in the UK and is being rehomed by Chilterns Dog Rescue Society. He would ideally like to find a home with his friend Goldie, but can be rehomed on his own.

Ollie has always lived with Goldie and, if they cannot be rehomed together, he might prefer to join a home with an established female dog as a friend. He would benefit from a quiet home without children as he can be worried by loud noises and sudden changes. His favourite place is the car and his least favourite things are cats!

Ollie can be a little unsure at first, but will be the most loyal and faithful friend once you gain his trust. He is in very good physical condition for his age, although he does have slightly puffy knees and some stiffness in his right hip which has responded well to anti-inflammatory medication.

Ollie has lived an exciting life travelling around the Middle East with his owners. Sadly, the wife was diagnosed with cancer last year and came home with her husband to be close to family and friends. Both dogs were kennelled in Qatar before coming back to England via Belgium.

Ollie and Goldie were gentle and faithful companions to their owner right up until her death earlier this month. Work commitments meant her husband had to return abroad to work and, with no one else available to care for the dogs, they have joined CDRS in the hope of that a wonderful retirement home can be found for them – they certainly deserve it.

After living such an exciting life and being such a faithful companion, all Ollie wants now is a loving and quiet home where he can retire and enjoy a comfortable life, preferably with Goldie at his side!

If you can make Ollie’s retirement as wonderful as it should be, please contact CDRS to find out more about him as follows:
