Joey is a 13 year old Pointer Cross boy who is with Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire.

Joey was born in Corfu, where his former owners used to live, but he has spent many years here in the UK. Named after the character on the TV series ‘Friends’, Joey really does his namesake justice. He is very sociable, a bit excitable, always keen to have a new adventure and desperate to have female company, of the canine kind in his case.

Joey’s lifetime companion recently passed away leaving Joey totally bereft. With other health issues within the family, his former owners felt it would be best for Joey to move to a new home with someone with an existing dog.

Joey is used to living with children, a family cat and, of course, another dog. He has spent long periods alone during the week but would be far happier to have someone at home for at least part of the day.

Although Joey is quite a mature dog, nobody has told him to slow down and take life a bit easier. He is a very active boy who loves his walks and playing with other dogs. A secure garden will be important for him to run around in as he is not used to being let off lead in open areas. Joey’s joy for life is infectious and the only things he doesn’t really like are noisy fireworks.

Joey is in remarkably good health for his age. He has age-related changes to both eyes, which is to be expected, and is about to have a dental. He has the faintest of heart murmurs, grade 1, which even the vet struggled to detect and it needs no treatment.
