1/9/18 – Gorgeous lady Daisy is being adopted by her foster carer!

Dinky little Daisy is a sweet-natured 14ish year old Terrier cross who came into the Oldies Club rescue because her owner became too unwell to look after her anymore. Daisy is now in a lovely foster home in Newark, Nottinghamshire waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.

A happy girl in foster: Daisy settled in straight away. Garden? Check. Sofa? Check. Lap cuddles? Check!

Can be left for a couple of hours, now and then: Daisy really loves company so she will need at least one person around most of the time. Her foster carer has left her alone for up to an hour so far. She was filmed and spent the first 5 minutes waiting by the back door but then decided a nap would more productive. She’s a sensible girl!

Could live with dogs: Daisy thinks other dogs are such fun! She enjoys meeting them out on walks and she’d probably be happy living with one or even more.

Cats are a question mark: In theory Daisy could live with a very confident, dog savvy cat because she has done before. However, with both the cats she’s met since being in foster, she’s found them a bit too exciting. Although, one of them did run and she is a Terrier!

Could maybe live with older children: Daisy hasn’t met any children since being in foster but she’s a confident girl and seems to instantly love everyone she meets. She has such a sunny-nature, she would probably be OK to live with sensible, older children who understand that she’s getting on a bit and doesn’t want to be picked up all the time. She has her dignity!

Loves walkies: Daisy is great on the lead and really enjoys getting out to sniff the air and socialise. She currently has about a 45 minute walk in the morning and a half hour one in the afternoon. Of course, she’ll need a garden for general pottering and sun bathing.

Good in the car: Better than good, in fact – brilliant!

Daisy’s favourite pastimes: She loves being outdoors with you, whether it’s for a walk or just basking in the sunshine. She’s an affectionate, lap-loving girl and does like a cuddle! She’s very fond of food, especially sausages!

Daisy’s dislikes: She’s a bit hand shy, not liking hands and things being raised above her head. Also, rain!

Daisy’s ideal home: She wants good company most of the time and visitors are always nice for extra fuss. A garden she can access whenever she likes, the chance to be with other dogs sometimes and some lap time please!

Health notes: Daisy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea/worm treated. She has a heart murmur but the vet says she won’t need any treatment until she starts showing symptoms. She recently had a dental and had her last 7 teeth removed. She’s coping very well with a diet of soft food (that includes sausages!).

Daisy’s foster carer says: “Daisy is cute, loving and companionable. An absolute sweetheart who just wants to sunbathe all day in your company. She has been very good since being here, no trouble at all. She travels well and gets very excited when it’s time for walkies but is equally happy to lounge about too. She is still getting used to managing her tongue since having her teeth out. It mostly hangs out slightly to the right and makes her look even cuter!”
