Handsome Border Collie, Koffie, is looking for his forever retirement home and is currently in foster care provided by the RSPCA Essex South, Southend & District Branch. His foster carer is going back to university in a week or so, so Koffie is open to foster offers if they live in postcodes SS0-SS12 (Southend area). Adopters can be from anywhere.
Koffie is tri-coloured and is approximately 12 years old. He is a sweet, kind boy who will benefit from a peaceful, adult-only home where he can laze about after a stroll in the park and a few games of fetch in the garden. He gets on with most dogs and could possibly live with a friendly cat.
Koffie loves his ballie, cuddles and tasty treats. He is still a fairly active lad, despite some arthritis and likes to get out and about. He has just enjoyed a family holiday with his foster family, but he preferred to sit in a boat enjoying the scenery and quality time with his family rather than mile long hikes!
Koffie would like his new adopters to be around most of the day to spend time with him, but can be left for short periods. He would like a home with direct access to a secure garden; that is a must. He knows all his basic commands and loves food and treats.
As Koffie is getting older, he has some issues with incontinence (leakage/drips). He wears a belly band around the house and copes with this very well. It’s being investigated if there is more to be done to help him, but it might be an ongoing issue that will be managed by wearing the band if his medication trial is not effective. He doesn’t wear it on walks or in the garden and empties his bladder normally at these times. The belly band just catches the drips indoors.
Koffie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, worm and flea treated and will come with 4 weeks’ free insurance. An adoption fee of £195.00 and virtual home visit apply.
