Zola is a beautiful Husky X of around 10 years of age. Zola is in Gloucester and is being rehomed privately by her owner due to a change in family circumstances making it impossible for her owner to continue to keep her and give her the care she deserves.

Zola’s owner is absolutely devastated about having to let Zola go, but she knows that it is in Zola’s best interests for her to find someone who can continue to love her and care for her in the way that she has been by her current owner up to now.

Wonderful Zola could potentially live with other calm dogs, as she has previously lived with two elderly dogs. However she has been an only dog for five years, so introductions would have to be done slowly. She also has potential to live with a very confident and calm cat. Her owner thinks that she would try to chase any young/skittish cats though.

Zola has never lived with children and so she probably wouldn’t want to start living with young children at this stage in her life. She is good with children she meets out on walks though, letting them stroke her and taking treats very gently, so she may accept living with older, calm, kind children.

Beautiful Zola can be left for about 5 hours, so would suit a part-time worker. Due to having arthritis, Zola cannot go for big long walks anymore, but she does still enjoy two or three half hour strolls a day. Zola loves her walks and enjoys practising and learning tricks. She is a clever girl who learns quickly when treats are on offer!

Zola is good in the car and will ‘sing’ when she gets excited about going somewhere. She can be shy around new people and big crowds but soon warms up to anyone with treats! She doesn’t like bouncy, excitable dogs getting too close to her and will ‘tell them off’.

Lovely Zola is neutered. She has arthritis and takes pain medication every 8 hours. Apart from this she is very healthy.

Zola is being rehomed privately by her owner who has confirmed that she will take Zola back if her new home doesn’t work out for any reason, however her owner feels that it would be very unsettling for Zola to move from home to home and is keen to try to find the right home first time. Prospective adopters will be carefully home-checked.

Would you love to walk off into the sunset with Zola?
