Bertie is an 11yr old beautiful and gentle boy who has had a sad life to date and now deserves his new beginning. Currently in foster in Malvern, Worcestershire, Pads 4 Pooches are hoping his forever home is just around the corner.
Bertie is medium sized, weighs 17kg and is on the path to gaining weight. He is still pretty thin, but is partial to a spot of grazing. His favourite being chicken. He has had a broken foot in the past that was not treated which sadly did not heal correctly, but he is a real trooper and it does not affect his walking and he is not in pain.
Bertie is a shy boy who will keep a safe distance from new people. Once he knows you his tail wont stop wagging and he is open to a stroke and a cuddle. Bertie needs a special person who will see past his initial shyness and let him go at his own pace by building up trust. Bertie would prefer a child free home.
He is good with other dogs, and cats are not a problem for him either, so he could share his forever home with either, or also be an only dog. He will wait by the door to let you know if he needs to go outside and is a real gentleman about the house. He is quiet and laid back and would prefer it if someone was around for much of the day. Perhaps you work from home or are retired and can be there to keep Bertie company.
Bertie is not a big fan of the car, and although fine for short journeys he would not want to have to go on long trips which would stress him out.
Bertie is fine on the lead once he feels settled, but his new owners will need to allow him to take his time and build up to walks at his own pace. A little garden would be perfect where he can gain his confidence.
