Millie is a 14 years old Miniature Poodle x Bichon Frise who came into Oldies Club care in November 2025 as her owner was moving abroad.
She arrived quite late in the evening but settled well overnight with only one small accident. She had noticeably thinning fur on her lower back and some lumps and bumps the rescue was aware of before she came in but her first visit revealed that she also had an ear infection. Bloods and urine were also taken for testing. Unfortunately the lump on her rear is inoperable and blood test revealed that Millie suffers from chronic kidney disease. She was put on a renal diet to help with this. Unfortunately she became further unwell causing her body to shudder but with pain relief she is able to live a normal life.

Due to her medical issues and unknown time left Oldies Club made the decision to place her in our sponsor dog scheme which means Millie will remain at her lovely foster home on a permanent basis, with the charity paying her vet bills for the rest of her life.
As she is a Poodle x Bichon Millie must have regular grooming to keep her coat in good condition as well as her ears and nails. She enjoys being brushed and on a recent visit to the groomers was very well behaved. She came back looking very pretty.

Millie enjoys her walkies no matter the weather. If its raining she just dons her coat and she’s ready to go. She loves meeting other dogs when out and about. Millie is a rather sociable little dog and loves to say hello to her fellow pooches and she likes to invite other dogs to play no matter their size.

Although Millie has lived with cats before she was a little too interested in the resident cats when she first arrived. This ended up with a slight altercation but the fosterers are working hard with Millie so that they can all co-exist happily together.
Her fosterers say that Millie is a sweetie and delightful. She is a proper little lap dog and you cannot sit down without her jumping up for a cuddle. They will spend whatever time she has left spoiling her rotten.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor Millie, or one of the other special oldies we are caring for in our sponsor dog scheme.
