Earlier this year the lovely Cheerful Charlie came into Oldies Club foster care, after his owner had sadly passed away. It wasn’t long before his foster carers decided they couldn’t live without him!

Here is an update from the handsome fella himself;

Just thought I’d let you know how I’m getting on in my new ‘forever home’. My foster carers soon fell for my gentlemanly charm and have adopted me. I was a little bewildered and scared at first, but I now have my paws under the table and am settling in well.

I have company all day and when my new dad is working in the garden I sit out there in the sun to keep him company, and of course run a discerning eye over his work! My new mum gives me my meals and if I put my chin on her knee and look up at her she is a push-over for some treats.

There are some great walks around here and I love checking out the new smells. Twice a day we go to the local park where it’s my job to see that the bunnies are behaving themselves. Some of them have the cheek to sit in full view munching on the grass, so I have to chase them back into the bushes!

I’ve made a lot of new doggy friends, including two nice Welsh Collie ladies! So all in all I reckon I’ve done okay and me and my new people will be taking care of each other through our Autumn years.

Woofs and licks,
Charlie.

Charlie’s new people say;

Charlie is a real treasure and we’re so pleased that he’s staying with us. He’s helped us too, in that he gets us out for some nice long walks. He’s very well behaved and fits in with our (sedate) lifestyle perfectly. He was still sad about losing his ‘mum’ when he came to us, but now he’s got used to us he’s relaxing and showing his true nature. He is wonderfully friendly with humans, great company and a lot of fun. An all round lovely boy.
