Rip the Staffie first appeared on Oldies Club website earlier this year.  He was in the care of the RSPCA in Macclesfield and they felt he stood a better chance of finding his forever home if he appeared on our site.   And they were right!

He’s now called Pip and is living in his new home, adored by his new owners.  And as you can see by that happy Staffie smile, he’s loving his new life.  Here’s what he has to say:

Dear Oldies Club
I just thought I would send a few lines about what I have been up to, my new mummy is helping me type!
Mummy and daddy have taken me on lots of interesting walks in the last few weeks. We have been on the West Pennine Moors, the Leeds Liverpool Canal and St Anne’s Beach to name a few. Everybody says I am a lovely friendly boy and I am building up my stamina for walks, in fact I could keep going for miles with no bother! We go out for at least 2 walks a day, one Saturday it was 3 hours although we did stop at the nice dog friendly coffee shop for a drink and a rest (mummy and daddy needed a rest apparently). They had cake – I would have liked cake ?.
I have had to have a couple of those bath things which I wasn’t keen on but mummy says it is good for my skin which is still a bit flaky apparently, but I think tasty salmon oil is better than a bath!
I LOVE the sunshine and like to be out in it as much as possible. I HATE the rain, mummy says she will get me a raincoat but I still don’t think I will want to go out in it. I have three comfy beds to choose from but at night I like to sleep on the sofa, I snore really loudly apparently (but so does daddy!). I don’t get up until wee time which is 5.30am- hey I am an older boy you know, then we all go back to bed for an hour before breakfast and a walk.
I like getting in the car, yesterday while daddy was hoovering out the car on the drive I got in and supervised from the passenger seat, well actually I fell asleep. I don’t mind the hoover at all by the way, it seems it keeps my home nice and clean and who doesn’t like a clean home?
I have met plenty of other doggies and I have a polite sniff and wag my tail to say hello but I am not bothered about playing, they are all a bit rambunctious for me. Mummy and daddy say my eyesight is not very good and I must admit I do bump into things sometimes but I am great at following my nose and mummy & daddy keep me on a long lead so I don’t get lost or hurt myself.
At the end of a busy day I like to curl up on the sofa and get nice strokes from mummy and daddy and know I am loved.
Love from Pip

Oh Pip, you sound as though you’re having a fabulous life.  Baths can be fun if you splash around and shake the water all over mummy and daddy.  Give it a try!  It’s so lovely to hear from you.  If you ever meet any other dogs who found their forever homes through the Oldies Club, tell them to get their humans to write to us too.  We’d love to hear how they’re getting on.   xx
