Dizzy and Figaro – the exception to the rule!

We’ve heard from Dizzy and Figaro’s adopters about this very special pair. You may remember that we made a desperate appeal last year for a foster home for this canine/feline duo, as their owner was terminally ill and was determined that her beloved old dog and cat would stay together. Although Oldies Club is a dog-only rescue, our hearts went out to Dizzy, Figaro and their owner, and we decided to make an extraordinary exception for them.

In amongst the foster home offers we had, one in particular stood out as being the most suitable, and the people involved turned out to be absolute superstars who went above and beyond to help Dizzy and Figaro. That they eventually went on to adopt them was simply the icing on the cake.

This is their update:

Figgy just loves everyone. He sleeps outside a lot of the time on a cushion on the hot tub!

He comes in for food and neck rubs but he loves his own space. He and our other cat are also good friends now.

Dizzy is dizzy, loveable, and sits with me at night, but he is my husband’s dog really. When my husband goes out without him, Dizzy sits waiting for him. He loves it at the allotment with our other dog Ginny.

Dizzy has slowed down a lot as far as walks go, so even though he is younger than our other dog, he seems older in health.

It’s difficult to get a photo of them together as Figgy loves his own space, but I hope you can tell from the photos that they are loving life. We love them both very much. It is very rewarding seeing them both happy.

We are so delighted to read this update and see the photos of two very relaxed friends. It is such a happy outcome for a special oldie dog and cat that found themselves in a tragic situation.
