Sweet little Rudie, a gorgeous Chihuahua X, was recently adopted by his fabulous Oldies Club foster carers. Rudie has well and truly landed on his paws and we were delighted to receive this lovely update:
“Thought it time to update you on Rudie’s progress. He continues to be a happy, loveable, funny little dog and his tail only stops wagging when he is lying down or asleep. He is a smart little fellow and has picked up a lot of essential commands and frequently used vocabulary.

He demands a stroke by plonking himself on your feet and looking straight into your eyes. Peter has difficulty puting his socks on every morning!!

He used to bark every morning for his food, but now knows he will automatically be fed twice a day and sits patiently on the kitchen mat, watching me prepare their bowls. He is a quick and messy eater, whereas Lucy is slow and meticulous, so they are never left eating unsupervised. Rudie would scoff anything that Lucy might leave.

Due to the recent inclement weather we have not been able to take our walks in the Nature Reserve, Plantation, or Forest because all 3 areas are water logged. Even our enclosed grassy area is super saturated. We have however, been able to do 3 different road walk routes from home in between rain falls. Apart from the road walks, Rudie also gets a lot of daily exercise by simply following me around all morning while I do my household chores. I am thinking of renaming him SHADOW!!!!

We have 6 dog beds in the house. Rudie uses all of them depending on where I am working or sitting. Lucy doesn’t use any of them and prefers to sleep on the floor. She does occaisionally get the devil in her and will scuff up all his tidy beds!! We definitely have MADAM and YOUR LORDSHIP.

Rudie will be 13 in April and Lucy will be 15 in May. Hopefully, I will still be updating you of his progress this time next year.”
We hope so too. It is wonderful to see how well Rudie has settled with Lucy, and we did have to chuckle about her scuffing up his six tidy beds! Thank you for giving him such a lovely life.
