1/9/18 – Blue has been adopted!
Blue, or Little Boy Blue as he’s affectionately nicknamed, is a small Staffie boy aged 10 years old. Blue hasn’t had an easy life and was mistreated in the past, but he’s now in the care of Loving Homes Dog Rescue in Orkney.
Due to his sad past, Blue is a little nervous of new people but he’s eager to please and wants to trust you and be friends. Once he knows you he’ll sit beautifully for a treat, and food is definitely the way to win his heart!
Smaller children can be a little overwhelming for Blue, so either an adult only home or one with older children (12 years +) would be better for him.
Blue wasn’t socialised properly when he was younger so is sometimes uncomfortable in the company of other dogs. When he’s out on walks he’ll walk past another dog if you tell him “leave”, but in his new home he would prefer to be the only one. No cats or small furries either please.
Blue loves his walks and is used to being on a harness. He’s quite a steady boy, but in the fields he loves to have a good run around and a sniff and play. He has good recall, unless there’s a very interesting new smell to distract him!
Blue loves his toys and is particularly fond of playing fetch with his tennis ball. He’s not possessive and will happily share them with you, but on the promise that you keep throwing the ball for him!
When you’re out Blue is content to snooze on his bed, or nibble on a tasty bone until you get back. He’s not destructive and is used to being left for up to 4 hours.
Blue is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated.
