We are very happy to report that we’ve heard news of Rufus and how well he has settled into life at his new home. You only have to look at these lovely photos to know that he is well and truly loved and adored!

His fabulous new family told us:

“Rufus has been with us for six months now and has really settled in. We collected Rufus from his lovely fosterer and family who were all sad to see him leave but of course really happy he was going to his forever home.

Rufus settled in straight away. He can be an anxious boy at times and is nervous of the vet but is enjoying “happy visits” where he plays and receives treats from practice nurses. Over the months his amazing, funny and sensitive personality has come out and he is an absolute joy. We’ve taken Rufus on holiday to Westward Ho! and he embraced everything with so much enthusiasm.

We took a short ferry ride and a bus ride and Rufus loved the adventures. We dare not say the word “car” unless Rufus is coming along with us because the prospect of a car ride is just so exciting for him!

Rufus is a pleasure to take for a walk and he has fantastic recall. He loves visitors and now has his favourites (usually female) and will sit with them for the duration of their visit.

We can leave Rufus for a few hours and he understands what “see you later” means and knows we will be back. Rufus has made us so happy and every day is a pleasure with him around. Thank you Oldies for our lovely boy.”

Isn’t that a heartwarming update? And the sweet photo above is of Rufus winning third place in the Most Handsome Boy category at a fun dog show. It’s wonderful, but surely ‘our’ Rufus should have been first! Well done gorgeous Rufus and we hope you continue to enjoy your new life.
