If you are thinking about adopting a pair of oldies, you may want to read our article Are Two Oldies better than One?
What a special pair these two are ! Meet Harry and Georgie, a pair of Chihuahuas that love each other so much, and so do need to stay together. Under the care of Foal Farm Animal Rescue, in Biggin Hill, Kent they are looking for a forever home, not a great distance from the rescue, in case they need to return for any veterinary care.
On arrival, it was clear that although they had been loved in their last home, they both needed some medical attention. Both had long claws which have now been clipped, which neither were that keen on !
Harry
Harry is pure Chihuahua and is 10yrs old, and when he arrived, needed some urgent care to his teeth and mouth. He had a much needed dental and had 12 teeth extracted. He is looking for a quiet and calm life, and whilst he shows signs of wanting to be fussed, he isn’t overly fond of being handled at the moment. This may well have been due to the pain he was experiencing from his bad teeth, but he does adore sitting on your lap, and with time, and once he feels confident with his new humans, we are sure he will start to relish the attention.
He was overwhelmed with his change of circumstances, and now really needs a loving forever home with Georgie, to make him feel safe again.
Georgie
Little Georgie is an 8 yr old Chihuahua cross. He is on a diet as he was a little overweight when he arrived in rescue. As with Harry, Georgie was wary of being handled by people he doesn’t know, but comes round quickly, once he can trust you. He is a joy to be around and is now lapping up all of the attention he is getting.
Being a hairless dog, he does need some additional care, which Foal Farm will discuss with any potential adoptees. He loves his toys and playing fetch, so a little garden would make these little chaps very happy indeed.
This adorable pair could live with respectful children over 12yrs of age, and also other dogs. No cats please. They are a very special pair that deserve so much love and comfort in their twilight years.
