Chloe and Milly are a pair of 12-year-old Dachshunds who came into the Oldies Club rescue after their owner sadly passed away. They are litter sisters and do everything together. Chloe is 10″ tall and weighs 10kg. Milly is 11″ tall and weighs 12kg. They’re currently in a foster home near Tavistock in Devon while they wait for the perfect home offer.
Summary: Chloe and Milly are loving and gentle-natured with all people. They want to be the only pets at home. They can live with respectful children from age 11 and will be fine with younger ones visiting. They need a couple of shortish walks a day and are used to having the freedom of a large garden. They’d love it if someone was with them a lot of the time but can be left for 2-3 hours when needed. Good on the lead and in the car, these poppets prefer to sleep on their human’s bed, please and thank you.
Settled in swiftly: The sisters felt at home in their new surroundings within 3 days, having each other for reassurance. Once settled, they have been left for a couple of hours and were absolutely fine.
Only dogs please: They want to be the only dogs at home. Milly is protective of her sister when it comes to other dogs and has an impressive bark to warn them off. Chloe joins in but you can tell Milly really means it.
They were both polite in an aloof sort of way when two Collies visited their foster home but they were greatly relieved when they’d gone again. They definitely want to be the only dogs in their home.
No to cats: Both ladies find chasing cats to be great fun! The cats do not.
Good with children: They’ve had visiting children from age 5 and were very good girls. They are naturally sweet-natured. Given their age though, it’s thought any resident children should be 11+, so that their nap times are assured.
Love a little walkies: They girls enjoy 2-3 walks a day of 20-30 minutes. They are good on the lead apart from when Milly sees a cat and thinks that the game is on. Recall is something they’re only just getting the hang of and cannot be relied upon. Obviously, they’d rather avoid other dogs as much as possible for the sake of peaceful walks.
Good in the car: Chloe is excellent in the car and Milly copes. They recently had a holiday in Cornwall which they enjoyed very much…
…particularly outings to the pub.
Milly’s favourite pastimes: Cuddles, belly rubs and little walks.
Chloe’s favourite pastimes: Spending time in the garden, belly rubs and chilling.
Their ideal home: They would love to be with someone who has plenty of time to spend with them, with no other pets in a quiet home with a secure, easy-access garden for them to enjoy. They’d particularly like a nice level, shady spot in the garden for their paddling pool please!
Sleeping arrangements: Chloe and Milly are used to sleeping on their foster carers’ bed and would like the same luxury in their adopted home. They hardly take up any room at all!
Health notes: Chloe and Milly are both neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and they have been wormed and flea treated. Since coming into rescue, Milly has had a dental and she needed 8 teeth out. Milly has a cyst on her eye that may need attention at some point but it isn’t troubling her at the moment. She has a few fatty lumps on her chest which are of no concern to the vet. Chloe has also had a dental and she needed 3 teeth out. She has a slight heart murmur but she doesn’t need medication as things stand.
Foster carer’s summary of the girls: “Milly is cuddly, comical, nosey and loving. Chloe is sweet, friendly, loving and easy going.”

They can be rehomed anywhere on the UK mainland – the closer to their foster home the better – subject to a satisfactory home visit. Note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to collect them.
