30/11/22 – Little Pixie has found a home!

Cute Pixie is a cream and white Chihuahua who is about 10 years old. She is being cared for by the RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton, Somerset, while she hopes to go to her forever home soon.
Pixie enjoys attention from her favourite people at West Hatch and, once she knows you, she loves nothing better than having a cuddle and settling down on your lap. Initially, she is quite a nervous girl, so she will need time and patience to settle into her new home. Once she is comfortable with you, her fun personality will shine through.
Pixie can be nervous of other dogs and can also be jealous of any attention paid to them. Due to this, she would find life much less stressful if she was the only animal in the home. She would suit an adult-only home, but she could potentially live with older teenagers who are respectful of nervous dogs and who understand the need to give her space.
Pixie came from a multi-dog household before coming into care and, because of this, she is not used to walking on a lead and hasn’t has much experience of the outside world. She was understandably nervous when she first arrived but has made great progress since then. She is getting more comfortable having a harness put on her and is walking really well on-lead, so she would need her new owner to continue this training at home.
Pixie is not fully house-trained but has got into a good routine at the centre, so she should not have too many problems being clean. She was not comfortable when tested in a car as she has possibly never had this experience before, so new adopters will need to be aware this needs work.
Pixie’s ideal home would be with someone who understands the unique qualities that Chihuahuas have, and who has the time to get her used to being left alone gradually, as she has always had company up until this point. She will need a secure area of garden so that she can have off-lead time safely and also so that she can progress with her house-training.
Pixie is neutered and has no known medical issues.
