It’s absolutely double the cuteness with this adorable pair of long-coated Chihuahuas called Tommy (Dad aged 9 and born 15.12.12) and Buttons (Son aged 8 and born 21.1.14). They are having fun, getting out and about a bit more at Chilterns Dog Rescue Society near Tring, Hertfordshire, and are ready and waiting to go to their new home together.
Tommy and Buttons have always shared a quiet home together with two other Chihuahuas. Sadly, their owner became unwell and could no longer offer the care they needed.
Their previous owner describes Tommy and Buttons as happy, laid back-dogs who enjoy an occasional game of ball in the garden. They are only used to short on-lead walks but, now at the Rescue centre, they are meeting more people and other dogs and beginning to show the more playful side of their characters. They need a quiet environment with a secure garden.
Tommy and Buttons have no experience of car travel, cats, larger dogs or children but, with gentle support, these older gentlemen could certainly learn some new tricks. Together, they can be left alone for a few hours without any problems.
Tommy and Buttons would love to be offered a home to live out their days together and, in the event that a suitable home for Tommy and Buttons cannot be found within a reasonable timeframe, consideration will be given to potential adopters with a compatible dog.
Tommy and Buttons are currently completing their vet checks. Tommy requires significant dental work with multiple extractions which is booked for next week. He also has a grade 2/3 heart murmur. Buttons has a grade 3 heart murmur. Apart from these age-related issues, both dogs are in good health. Neither currently requires any medication, just monitoring, a sensible diet and exercise and, of course, lots of TLC. They are neutered.
