Sonny is a very handsome 11-year-old Mastiff Cross who is with Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool.
Sonny is a lovely boy who has bonded very well with the kennel staff, and he enjoys going out on walks with dog-walking voluteers. He can be a vocal lad and he enjoys telling you all about his day!
In his previous home, Sonny bonded very closely with his female owner, preferring her company, and had some issues with the male owner. During his time at Freshfields he has been on his best behaviour and hasn’t put a foot wrong.
Sonny needs a quiet home with a single person, so that he can bond with them and not feel the need to become defensive over anyone. He will walk past dogs with no problem, however he doesn’t like them to be in his space so he needs to be your only dog. He cannot live with cats. Sonny absolutely loves a fuss and enjoys being brushed. He has the potential to bond very well with his new owner and thoroughly enjoy the next few years of his retirement.
Potential adopters will need to be flexible with their time and be able to visit Sonny multiple times, to build a relationship prior to taking him home. You would therefore need to be fairly local to Liverpool to ensure that this can happen.
